Infinite Gametype Modding

So it seems like there are a handful of potentially modded gametypes making the rounds in the Infinite circles - Kong Slayer, Rock'n'Repulsors, De-Escalation Slayer, etc. I think most of these came from dev files that were published and found via the API, but I'm not 100% certain of that.

Within the in-game UI we don't have the ability to set certain properties on gametypes - like defaulting equipment spawns - quite yet. There are also a lot of scoring options missing from classic gametypes that were present in older Halos, which is unfortunate.

Are there any existing methods for modding gametypes in Infinite? I'd love to do things like set default equipment, give equipment infinite uses, turn on ball-kill scoring in Oddball, etc. if possible. I know we'll be able to do a lot of this through nodegraph hackery when Forge comes out, but I'd really like to get settings into gametypes where possible.

Thanks!

I'm assuming you'd be doing this over pc right? the scoring for infinite is already really weird its more like halo 4 with a scoring over time with bits of score for doing random things.

Right, it would definitely be cool to do via console but probably unnecessary. As long as console players can play files modded in this way they don't necessarily need to generate them.

Unsure. There's certainly nothing like what we have in Reach with RVT.

I think really we need to wait until the official Forge launch and see how powerful nodegraph scripting can be. Ideally it allows people to build gametypes from scratch and customize every aspect of the game, but I have a feeling it'll be more along the lines of H2A and H5 scripting.

Do we know if nodegraph scripting is going to be available on the gametype level? I've seen it in Forge but AFAIK the graph functionality is tied to maps, no?

Yes it is tied to the map itself. However, if it can do a lot of gametype stuff like gamerules & HUD elements, then those scripts would just need to be blueprinted and copid across maps to make them compatible.
